陶芸の手びねり技法による土の厚さと袋のような形に惹かれて制作をしています。
身の回りの些細な瞬間や言葉を反芻しながら、土を少しづつ削って造形しています。
I am drawn to the thickness of the clay, and to the bag-like form that is special to hand-building technique.
The shape came from small moments and words around me at that time.
As I carves the clay with my tools, I quietly holds these thoughts in my heart.

《字 26-1~5》 2026
モチーフにする一文字を何にするか考えながら、手びねり技法で土を袋状につみあげはじめる。ここしばらくのことを丸めたような一文字が思い浮かぶといい。自分の窯をほどよく埋めるくらいの大きさになったら手を止める。
決めた一文字の形とアドリブへの興味の辻褄を合わせつつ、すこし乾いた土を掻きベラで削る。
そして焼成と研磨をいくどか重ねて陶の風合いを探ったのち、制作を終える。

「連木で腹を切る」の七文字から着想を得た陶造形です。
すりこぎ（連木）で切腹する。
試みても成就しない物事を例えていう。
できもしないことについての冗談めいた表現。

「そこにいてよ」の六文字から着想を得た陶造形です。
（ずっとあるがままでいてほしかったのに。水槽。白い鱗。鈍い眼。）

That's the way it is. I wanted it to always be that way.
《アフタートーク（踵で頭痛を病む）》2022
「踵で頭痛を病む」の七文字の形状から着想を得た陶造形です。
「踵で頭痛を病む」とは、他人の悩みに対して見当違いな心配をするという意味のことわざです。
身辺で起きた出来事をきっかけにこのことわざを選んだものの、作るうちに語彙のニュアンスに違和感を覚えるところがあり、それを曲筆するようなイメージで制作しました。
人体の柔らかな温もりと文字の面影を彷彿とさせる陶造形を模索しました。
“AFTER TALK I mistake your headache for leg pain.”
"I mistake your headache for leg pain." is a proverb.
I chose this proverb because of an event that happened to me, but I felt a little uncomfortable with the vocabulary, and I wanted to leave ceramics that would cover it up with an atmosphere of human warmth.

It's a shameful thing to say, but now I want to surrender myself to this direct word "pain".

去年の冬のある日、子供の頃に起きたとある事件を知りました。
そして、ストーブを焚いている部屋でその報道の記録を読みながら自分の無知を強烈に悔やみました。
私は、恥ずかしながらこの事件にまつわる社会問題について個人的な意見を表明することは躊躇します。
頭の中に散らばった言葉をすくい上げ、うまく文章に織り込める日まで「保管」することにします。
科学技術は進歩し続けていますが、私たちを守る皮膚はこれからもずっと柔らかいままです。

One day last winter I learned of an incident that had happened to me as a child and regretted my ignorance as I read the news reports following the incident in my room by the stove.
However, I am ashamed to say that I hesitate to express my personal opinion on the social issues surrounding this incident.
I have decided to scoop up the words scattered around in my head and "store" them until the day I can weave them into a successful sentence.
Science and technology continue to advance, but the skin that protects us remains soft.
